How to delete your account and how your data is handled
1. How to delete your account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from within the app. Go to “Settings” → “App Info” and select the Delete Account menu, then follow the on-screen instructions. Once you confirm deletion, the data listed in “3. Scope of data deleted” below becomes subject to deletion.
If you are unable to use the app, or cannot complete the process yourself, you may submit a request using the web form (deletion request) at the bottom of this page. We will verify your identity based on your submission before processing the deletion.
2. Requesting deletion via the web form
Fill in the required fields below and submit. When you press the submit button, your device’s email application will open with a pre-filled email addressed to our support desk (kaiwa_support@locq.jp). Please review the contents and send it as is.
Identity verification: To prevent fraudulent deletion through impersonation, we match the information you provide (name, nickname, email address) against our records to verify your identity. We may contact you at your registered email address to confirm. If the information does not match our records, we may be unable to process the deletion.

3. Scope of data deleted
Deleting your account (whether in the app or via the web form) makes the following data subject to deletion:
- Account information: name, email address, profile information such as nickname, date of birth, and gender
- Voice data: conversation recordings and voice input data
- Learning / usage data: conversation content (text), language learning status, usage logs, operation history, study time, etc.
- Device information: device details such as model name and OS version, browser information, IP address, and access logs
- Purchase information: information related to in-app purchases and purchase history
4. Time to take effect
After we accept your deletion request and complete identity verification, we will reflect the deletion of the data above within 30 days as a general rule. However, information necessary for the following purposes may be retained for a certain period in accordance with applicable laws and our internal rules before deletion:
- Responding to inquiries
- Dispute resolution and fee collection
- Fraud detection and prevention
- Obligations under applicable laws or regulations
Records of purchases and payments made through the App Store, Google Play, etc. may be retained by those providers for a certain period in accordance with each store’s policies and statutory retention obligations, even after deletion on our side. Data remaining in backups will also be deleted in due course within an appropriate period.
